LAST MARYLAND SHIPMENT FOR CUBA Horses of G W loft and Other Owners Will Leave Bowie Sunday Dscoiaber 1 Baltimore Md November 27 On Sunday De ¬ cember 1 there will leave Bowie what may be re ¬ garded as Marylands final contribution to the Havana racing season of 10181019 Included in the shipment will lie some of the best horses that have made the gulf trip since Manager II D Browns introduction of the sqiort five years ago It is probable that it will include about ninety horses the property of various owners the most imposing being those of former Congressman George W Loft in charge of W F Martin who lias been so suc ¬ cessful with the horses of the Kentucky Stable during the last summer season seasonE E T Xollicoffer J J Timnicrman George Sully Tobe Kamsay F Kinehart W Campbell Art Jack ¬ son F T Martin Henry Shields T J Carroll W Oberliu and T J Queen are others who will con ¬ tribute to the shipment G Preeee with his two sons both of whom will surely prove of material strength to the riding colony will ship a few horses and John Pangle will take Jockey II Bnllman lid six horses which have worn the K T Wilson silks in eastern competition It has been Pangles fortune to receive an alot ment from Mr Wilsons stable for the last several years some of which have finally found their way into the establishments of Cuban owners Wliip IKjorwill and Woodthrush are two of the best he will send across Both were Winners during the metropolitan season seasonWilliam William Daly will bring several for Senor Lezama Also included are two purchased from Samuel Koss for Senor Tolan of IIarana The latter pair are Aeronaut yearlings which will be raced after the first of the New Year Senor Tnlon is regarded as the pioneer Cuban sportsman for he was the first of Iiis compatriots to show his interest in the sport by purchasing Imperator from the Kccne Bros when those horsemen raced at the Cuban capitol three years ago Tlie good sprinters success was such that Seuor Tolon lias been a frequent pur ¬ chaser of thoroughbreds since sinceThe The Senor Diaz stable will undoubtedly prove formidable assisted as it will be by the services of AVilliam McDaniel as trainer and C Ktimmer as first jockey McDaniel recently closed an agree ¬ ment to train the Diaz string which includes sev ¬ eral high priced purchases from the eastern jear llux sales insMktst Itwas at Hiivflua lest vintcr that Kummer displayed the talent that earned him favor in the eyes of eastern turfites during the 1018 season seasonJockey Jockey Kelsay will ride for the LoftMartin establishment while PRkens Ball Thurber and Dominick are others who will be numbered among the colonyAssistant Oriental Park riding colony Assistant Manager and Starter James C Milton has aided all the Marylamlers in securing their necessary passports and hoi es to complete his work during the coming week when lie will depart for the Cuban course where his assistants1 are already schooling the horses that remained in Cuba after the close of last winters racing
