SOUTH AFRICAN RACING TAXES In Durban winninJ bets are taxed two and one half per cent and the following from The Latest of August 17 shows that the bookmakers are held responsible Al e Simmons secretary of Natal Tattersalls has collected from the bookmakers and handed over to the Durban Turf Club a sum of 45035 this representing the tax of two and one half per cent on all winning bets imposed by the Durban Turf Club at the beginning of June Of the above sum the turf club immediately donated 3JC25 to patriotic and charitable funds
