JEFFERSON TRACK IS MUCH IMPROVED TzoLsi Defeats Brando in a Thrilling Finish Favorites Fall by tbe Wayside NEW ORLEANS LSI December 0 The Jefferson Park track continues to show marked improvement and should be fast for tomorrows racing Tim drying out track was in a measure responsible for several upsets today the majority of the public choices being hacked on the strength of they ability to run In difficult going goingThere There was little to outhuse over in the racing and it was far from a profitable day for the hackers of favorites The most interesting race of the after ¬ noon was the mile and u sixteen dash run as the fifth race in which TzeLsi scored a nose victory over Brando The two put up a magnificent struggle through the last sixteenth and the result was in doubt until the judges announced the win ¬ ner nerKenward Kenward won his third straight victory of the meeting when he accounted for the third race lead ¬ ing Miss Filley home by a safe margin marginSay Say with Frank Robinson in the saddle was given the call in the betting iii the closing dash but failed to finish inside the money Parrish was the Winner after a sharp battle with Rose of Autumn through the last seventy yards of the race raceOne One of R T Wilsons castoffs the threeyear old Sabretash furnished a surprise by leading all the way in the opening dash to win in commanding style First he disposed of Ettahe joint favorite with PnlaskI after goine a half and gamely with ¬ stood the closing challenge of Liberty Star StarAnother Another upset came in the second race when Reilloc Pluto and Foxy Griff all outsiders in the betting finished in the first three places in the order named namedBlllie Blllie B came to the rescue of the talent by scor ¬ ing a hard earned victory over Eulogy and Green Grass in the third race For i time it looked as if either one of the two last mentioned horses would win and deepen the gloom of the followers of fav ¬ orites but Billie B responded to hard riding in the final drive and made good in a resolute finish
