KENTUCKY ASSOCIATIONS MEETING Robert L Baker Elected General Manager Plans Formulated for Next Tears Spring Meeting LEXINGTON Ky December t The Kentucky Association stockholders in annual meeting re elected its board of directors and they i turn re elected Senator Johnson X Camden president Catesby Woodford vicepresident G Wilson secretarytreasurer The only departure was the election of Robert L liaker as general manager Heretofore the custom was to elect an executive committee to perform the functions which arc tin1 general managers The executive committee feature was retained but only for emergency duties When a meeting of the directors cannot be had the presi ¬ dent general manager and Sewell Combs are to be the executive committee committeeThe The directors will meet on December 1C to hear general manager Bakers recommendation for ap ¬ propriations for stakes and purses for the spring meeting of 1919 It has been decided said general manager Baker this afternoon to restore the Blue Grass Stakes for threeyearolds with 2r 00 added one and oneeighth miles I haVe conferred with the Churchill Downs folks and they have agreed that no penalty will go upon the winner of this race for the Kentucky Derby I cannot make the announcement definitely until I have the sanction of the board of directors but it is prob ¬ able that there will be no less than 2000 added to any stake next year We are planning seven stakes and six big overnight handicaps for the thirteen days
