PUDDIN McDANIEL WINS ARMY RACE Puddin McDauiel who is now Corporal D K MiDaniel has not forgotten how to ride since ho donned the khaki and at the recent Camp Upton horse show he won a race an account of which Trench and Camp published at Camp Upton tells as follows followsThe The race was easily the prettiest ever seen on any steeplechase track or racing course Corporal McDaniel a former jockey whose wife was present t cheer him on had determined to win for the honor of the Auxiliary Remount Depot No 302 H was mounted on Quartermaster Sergeant ONeills sorrel gehliiig Harry Pass Riding low he shot into the lead like a streak of greased lightning never to lose the advantage for a second It was an exciting thing that race The pack of horses seemed to round the difficult curves in a cluster and for a while it looked as though some one would be hurt One rider was dismounted iu the riielee but the rest stuck to their seats Galloping at a wild and un ¬ canny speed the best men got ahead and finished thus First McDaniel second AVagoner McLeary on Dizzy a bay gelding owned by Captain liana third Sergeant Warlike of the Remount on Major a bay gelding belonging to Quartermaster Sergeant Winfield
