YANKEE TRAINERS DEATH IN GERMANY GERMANYLEXINGTON LEXINGTON Ky December IS Last October the death of an American race horse trainer named McCritry was reported from Germany GermanyHorsemen Horsemen in the United States were at a loss to identify the man s the cable did not give his first name It was stated at the time that Mc Crenry was employed by Baron Oppenlicim OppenlicimRecently Recently an English sportsman It Bunsow has written giving particulars of McCreerys death He was urne other than the veteran race rider W McCreery from Bed Bank N J The letter follows followsIt It may be of interest to American turfmen to know that W McCreery died at Hoppengarten the training centrale of Germany on the Oth of October after a long illness illnessDeceased Deceased had come to Germany with trainer McCormiek as head lad for Baron Oppenheims stable and remained after Mr McCormicks death when Hyland another American was intrusted with the management of the stable stableThis This trainer too died quite suddenly during a race meetuig at Hoppengarten and then Mc ¬ Creery whom the Baron esteemed highly was en ¬ gaged as trainer He won twice for his patron the Derby with Ariel and Marmor the latter won tlo blue ribbon this year the St Leger and innumer ¬ able other races racesHe He was born in lied Bank N J and rode in the United States before he came to Europe Tho extraordinarily great number of mourners at the funeral showed how highly he was esteemed by everybody II Bunsow
