GIANTS NEW PRESIDENT A SPORTSMAN Owner of the Casco Stable and Deeply Interested in Thoroughbred Racing. NEW YOniC, N. Y., January 10. Charles A. Stoneham, the principal stockholder and new president of the New York National League Baseball Club, is known as a true sportsman in every sense of the word. He is deeply interested in the thoroughbred horse and the sport of racing, being the owner of the Casco Stable, trained by James Murphy, which lias campaigned on the eastern tracks for several years. The stable is composed of Adele, Elderkcn, Different Eyes, Ojala. Jane Mary. Unwise Child, Peasant and Puppsy. Trainer Murphy, who formerly handled the horses of Fox-hall Keene, states that Mr. Stoneham last year purchased quite a few yearlings, several of which appear decidedly promising and expects toVfigure prominently in the two-year-old racing of thitf year.
