PLAN TO REPLENISH OUR JUMPERS NEW YORK, N. Y., February 10. Patrick Deegan, who vonditioned .Manifesto for his victories in the Liverpool Grand National in 1S97 and in 1S99. has a plan to replenish the cross-country horses in America. He has had advices from Ireland that there are a number of first-glass steeplechasers on the market that can be bought reasonably; and should enough sportsmen become interested to take from fifteen to twenty of them they could be brought over at a .real good, profit. In making such importations it is naturally desirable to deal in such a number to make the investment a paying one. for the bringing over of two. or three at this time would incur an expense out of proportion witii the price paid in Ireland. Most of the best jumpers in history have been bred and developed in Ireland, and a reason ,fpr, this, opnortuuhv now is the natural closing of the Gcrmun, Austrian, aiid "dlicr good markets for those horses, . 4
