FISHING AND HUNTING NOTES According to a bulletin recently issued by the United States Department of Agriculture, the ease witli which the mallard duck can be bred makes it the best species for wild duck farming. Wolves are multiplying so rapidly in the nortli woods of Michigan that the state has been asked to increase the bounty beyond the 5 now allowed for adult animals and 15 for cubs under six months of age. The Pennsylvania Game Commission wishes to establish a game preserve in eacli county. It suggests that instead of turning the money from hunters licenses back into the state treasury, the funds provided by sportsmen should be used for such preserves. Harry Russell,, of Hudson Falls, N Y., .since November 10 has- accumulated 875 muskrat pelts and forty-five skunk hides. The animals were taken at Old Northern and Wood Creeks of Kingsbury. The highest taken in one night was seventy-six inuskrats. The price of skunks is 5 and musk-rats 1.25.
