WINNERS OF f 2 0,000 OR MORE, NEARLY ALL OF WHICH ARE STILL ENGAGED IN RACING It has been a long time since there has been an addition to the list of American race horses which won 00,000 or more. It is more than probable that one will join that select division in 1919, while there is a distinct possibility that there may be more than one. Boamer now lacks less than ,000 of having won that justly coveted sum. He is as sound as can be and is to be raced this year, so it is as certain as anything can be in racing that he is to eross over the line. If kept in racing there is no reason to doubt that Sun Briar also could gain a place in the list in the course of a year or two more, but the one other horse that might gain admission in 1919 Is the now three-year-old Eternal. With more than half of the amount already to his credit, this colt could pass the 00,000 mark by winning the 1 .a Ionia Championship Stakes, alone at Latonla next fall, to say nothing of his chances in the Kentucky Derby, Lutonia Derby and the many other stake races to which he is nominated. It is the frequent way of horseflesh that Eternal may prove ineapable of taking any of these rich races, but if fortune is on bis side his chance to become a great money winner is apparent. His distinguished rival Billy Kelly lias no such chance leeause he did not win as much money last year and is not in the Latonla Championship. Dunboyne is in that big race, but his send-off is from a starting point of over 4,000 less money won than stands to the credit of Eternal. Of the other winners of large aggregates in the following list Campfire has been sent to the ,stud,. but if Omar Khayyam races up to the standard of his three-year-old form this year, as is expected, it is quite on the cards that he may win the big sum named before his retirement from racing. Cudgel and Johren also have chances, and so has Billy Kelly, because being a gelding he will probably be kept in racing as long as lie remains sound. Few, if any, of the others have a chance, but it is plain from a consideration of what they have already done that they have abundantly paid their way. Horse. Col. Sex. Age. Pedigree. Owner.
