STARS IN A LEXINGTON STAKE RACE Billy Kelly, Eternal, War Pennant, Colonel Xiv-ingston and Other Cracks in Blue Grass Stakes. LEXINGTON. Ky.. March. 5. The Blue Grass Stake, one mile and an eighth, ,500 added, for three-year-olds, colts to carry 1211 jwunds, geldings 11U pounds, fillies 117 pounds, to be run licre on May 3 under the auspices of the Kentucky Association, will afford the first opportunity for a meeting of the rivals Billy Kelly, Eternal and Colopel Livingston, they being among the forty-three entries to that stake received to date by secretary G. D. Wilson. Commander J. K. L.-Boss also named War Pennant, while J. W. McClelland also named The. Wanderer and Cromwell. B. J. Brannon has St. Bernurd as a second string to his Imjw. Other cligibles are The Trump, Linden, Vulcanite, Serbian, Stockwell, Lothulr, Sennings Park, Texas Special, Cerinus, Buncrana, Major Parke, Military System, Jago, Sans Peur II., Pas-tore.au. Drutumond, Frogtown, Col. Taylor, Dixie Carroll, Sway, Clermont, Cobweb, Under Fire, Docod, Xapan, Service Flag, Sam Keh, Farmingdale, Kugnarok, Nonnan, Vancouver, American Ace, and the. fillies Regalo, Delico and Yvette. Major T. C. McDowells colors will not be seen in the contests for any of the spring stakes at Lexington for tiie reason that he laid away the LexIugton and Louisville stake blanks together, thinking thut both closed March 4. When he sat down yesterday to fill out the blanks he found that lie had got the flag as far as Lexington is concerned by three days. Emil Hcrz, of Xew York, is the owner of what lias frequently been called the best looking yearling in Kentucky. He is by Short Grass Ellangowun, and was sold by his breeder. Captain Tom Clay, to Hcrz this, week for the reported price of ,000, double what he could have been bought for six months ago. He was transferred to Kingston Farm today, traveling in a van. John Miller will leave tomorrow for New York with a carload of runners and trotters. Among the numlier are the two recently purchased by John Whalen -from John E.
