PIMLIC0 STAKES CLOSE ON APRIL 3 Western turfmen who are contemplating a spring campaign in Maryland are reminded that the Maryland Jockey Club stakes, to be decided at Piralico during the meeting which begins May 1 and continues to May 17, will close for entries on Thursday, April 3. The list of events are headed by the; Prcakness Stakes, 5,000 added, for three-year-olds at one mile and an eighth; the Pimlico Oaks, 5,000 added, for three-year-old fillies at one mile and a sixteenth; the Pimlico Spring Handicap, ,000 added, for three-year-olds and over at a mile and a sixteenth; the Spring Juvenile. ,500 added, for two-year-olds at four and a half furlongs, and the Green Spring Valley Steeplechase Handicap, ,000 added, for four-year-olds and over at two miles. The Maryland Jockey Club will distribute 43,000 In added money during the fifteen racing days, and there will be no entrance fee charged to stakes and 110 purse less than ,000 in added money.
