OWNER OF FAST SAND MARSH DIES Stallion Theo. Cook Sold for Stud Service on a Kentucky Breeding Farm. NEW YORK, N. Y., March 12. A. A. Docter, who owned the good horse Sand Marsh, died suddenly at hi9 home of acute indigestion last Thursday. He leaves a widow and one daughter. Mr. Docter intended to breed several mares to Sand Marsh and expected good results. At the present time he- had several horses in training in charge of R. B. Miller. William Garth has sold the stallion Theo. Cook to Edward F. Sims, and he was Immediately shipped to Carr and Piatts farm near Lexington, Ky. Theo. Cook has had but one seasons crop to race aud out of three foals two of them, Esquimau and Agnes Cook, are both winners. He is bred on the same lines as the successful stallion Sweep, being by Ben Brush a Domino mare. James Rowe was in the city today after several weeks sickness at his home on Brookdalc Farm. While he looks fairly well, he is not quite back to his usual good health. All his stock in training, owned by H. P. Whitney, are In good condition and forward. Uollie Hughes, who has just returned from France, expects to be discharged from the army in a week or two, when he will return to the service of John Sanford, for whom he trained part of the Sanford string at the time of his enlistment.
