W P BURCH HORSES TO RACE AT BOWIE String Well Advanced in Training After Wintering Well at Beaning Track irALTIMORE Md March 21 The horses of the variously owned stable William P I lurch is fitting at Henning rack for the spring meeting of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association are well advanced Tilt best known of these horses is the sprinter Crank which has held Jijs own in handicaps Then then is Chimera Ballymooney High Time Rallyconnell Frank Macklin a two yearold brown filly by ColiiirjTorperihow jiniV utwoycjiroldfUly bj rlffigibby Priuisf Caprice These will all bear the silks of Samuel Ross of Washington Mr Burch does not appear to have any notion of attemnting to train Ultimatum again Ultimatum whose feet always bothered him has been retired to the stud studMr Mr Burclis righthand man at Benning track is jockey Phil Musgrave who has been on the ground for some time It was not the good fortune of Musgrave to see service abroad but he entered the army in the first draft rose to the rank of sergeant at Charleston S and left thn service with many handsome things written by his commanding officers on his discharge papers Since leaving the army lie lias married and settled down in Washington He weighs about 10S pounds in riding condition now and lie is always on tlie job Mr Hurch is keenly anxious to have Mm reinstated because he Burch has a strong stable of horses of various ages in training and he needs badly the services of a capable rider riderOf Of the veteran horses Crank Ballymooney and Frank Macklin there is little to be said beyond that they have wintered well and will be ready to do their best at Bowie at the first asking Crunk docs not look a bit the worse for his three years of rather hard campaigning Frank Mackliu a foreign bred fouryearold which laid off racing last year after a fairly creditable twoyearold beginning has matured into a handsome individual and acts as though lie can run Ballymooney which was light and gangling last year is carrying more flesh this year and appears to be more robust Ballyconnell is small of stature but compact and Mr Hurch believes that she will earn her oats from the start startThere There are possibilities in Chimera a colt that worked swiftly at Aqueduct last summer but struck himself and only started twice High Time is straight as to his tendons and 150 pounds heavier than lie was at any time last year There are sprint ¬ ing possibilities in High Time and lie will begin to hustle for his oats early earlyThe The Colin Torivenhow twoyearold filly is a bigboned bigbodied brown a miss which reminds one of her brilliant sire shortlegged and well muscled Some of the Benning trainers pick this miss as the coming star of the winters Benning thoroughbred colony The Llangibby Princess Ca ¬ price filly is a stalwart chestnut She is of the family of Royal Marriage and Royal Coinage A son of Royal Coinage brought 13000 at public auction at Saratoga last summer Tlie Llangibby filly is big all over She may not train successfully for the early meetings but she looks like a miss that will win in good class company once she strikes her gait
