BIANCHIS SMALL BUT SELECT STABLE Sennings Park Will Carry His Colors in Kentucky Derby F J Kelleys Breeding Plans LOUISVILLE Ky March 21 O A Bianciii familiarly known as Daggle Smith will start the Kentucky spring racing season with a small but select stable of horses all of which are now iii active training under his personal supervision at Churchill Downs where they wintered splendidly He fully expects to enjoy the measure of success that attended his stable last year whenu iniiiiber of lils horses jncludiriirUJjueky B aiiiV SrtmingS Tiirk proved to lie good winners Biaiichi parted with Lucky B last fall but he still retains Sen nings Park and a number of other good performers He also has a small band of twoyearolds all of which he regards as promising Last year the stable was represented iu tlie Kentucky Derby by Lucky B which ran a creditable race jind this year Kenning Park will be the stables stand ardbearer in the big event eventWliile Wliile the general discussion centers around cracks like Eternal and Billy Kelly as the most likely ones to take down the rich prize owner Bianchi is of the belief that Sennings Park will have to be reck ¬ oned with on the afternoon of the contest and his opinion is shared by a number of shrewd horse ¬ men who have watched the colt in action both as a twoyearold and since lie entered tho threeyear old stage The coltterecord during Jhe first year of his racing career is a inost creditable one He started fourteen times won three races was second twice and third on three occasions His list of victories includes the winning of the Soring Trial Stakes at Douglas Park His total money earnings for the year amounted to Sfi431 Senniugs Park is by Jim Gaffhey Irish Queen and was bred by Mr Biaiichi W II Luessing of this city who died a short time ago held an interest in the colt by virtue of owning tlie colts dam During the winter the colt has grown and broadened out and now stands 1J hands and is probably the equal in looks of any of the other Derby eligibles eligiblesAmong Among the other older horses in the Bianciii barn are Emerson Cochran W S Culbertson Lady Rachel E J Lynch and Redland The stables younger division incudes the following Viola Gaff ney b f by Jim Gaffney Viola B Emma C ch f by Jim Caffney Precocity Nancy Me b f by Transvaal Maid of the Order and a colt by General Roberts RobertsBUSY BUSY SEASON FOR JIM GAFFNEY GAFFNEYBianciii Bianciii recently dissolved tlie partnership that had existed between him and John Wiggins in the breeding business and he lias arranged for Jim Gaffuey to stand at D W Scotts place near Pine Grove He believes the coming season will be the banner one for Jim Gaffney inasmuch as he has already booked thirtyfive mares to tlie stallion Among the better known ones are Zienap Kittle Belie Brooks Whats Left Olga Star Sylvia Dun liar Flying Frances Gipsey Blair Dficis Gipsey Love and Sonia SoniaT T L Pierce who is ii charge of the breeding interests of F J Kelley the Chicago manufacturer has arranged to ship the mares Snappy and Merry Whirl to John Wiggins farm to be bred to Ormes dale the stallion that Mr Kelley recently ac ¬ quired from R T Wilson Arrangements have also been made to send Ichi Han and Blind Beauty to Baibees farm to Ixv bred to Sweep Dirty Face and Sotirire will be sent to Headleys place to be mated witli Jack Atkin and Oobette will go to Dan Scotts to be bred to Jim Gaffney GaffneyMr Mr Kelley contemplates branching out on an ex ¬ tensive scale in tlie breeding business and is on the lookout for a suitable location for his establishment establishmentTlie Tlie Kelley horses in training which were re ¬ cently turned over to George Land to train are now at Churchill Downs and will be ready for tlie open ¬ ing of tlie season Among the number are Pastou reau and Sans Peur II both of which have been nominated to the Kentucky Derby SazaNamy and Brunette the latter having been named for the Kentucky Oaks The only twoyearold in trainer Lands care is a filly by Vulcain Delusion that has been named Drum Fire FireTom Tom Iliggins formerly assistant to starters Gas sidy and Morrissey is back at Camp Taylor after thirteen months of service in France He was at ¬ tached to the 17th Field Artillery a part of the famous second division and was in action at Ver ¬ dun and Ballon Wood At tlie latter place he was wounded in the knee but has almost entirely re ¬ covered from the disability He intends resuming his former occupation as soon as he isjnustered out
