LEGOTAL IN WINNING FORM Shows Great Speed in a Canter ¬ ing Victory at Qaklawn Jockey C Robinson in Good Form Again and Bides Two Win ¬ ners Track Gossip HOT SPRINGS Ark April S The summer temperature of this afternoon was responsible for a big patronage at Oaklawn and those present wit ¬ nessed some spirited racing though the card as a whole was devoid of features The best race a handicap at threequarters of n mile was won by Mpse Goldblatts Legotal which showed a high flight of speed from the barriers rise and led Happy Valley and Kama at the end by nearly ten lengths She was favored by her light impost and ran to her best form formThe The mile and a sixteenth race which closed the card was productive of one of the best betting contests during the meeting six of the seven start ¬ ers receiving heavy attention It resulted in u victory for the suddenly improved Reveler which in a preceding race finished beaten off Haynes kept him well up from the start this afternoon and wore lolite down in the last sixteenth lollte was an intended good thing and flattered extensively until right at the end endBackers Backers of favorites were given a couple of hard jolts in the opening races in which they had re ¬ spectively centered en Alf Tesina and Arborvitae Bengali took Alf Vezina into camp easily and Rowan was responsible for Arborvitaes failure when he took her Iwiek at tbjs start to avoid a jam Jockey C Robinson again showed goor rorrn and apparently is now as good as lie was before his injury at the Fair Grounds He gave Verity a perfect ride in the third race and won from Jim Dudley and Elizabeth Marie The Texans azain tried an oldfashioned coup with 1 P House the intended medium but tho inexperienced Stevens brought about the horses undoing by his failure to gi r pway forwardly and guiding the horse wide all he way Durward Roberts carrying Joha Lowes colors was much the best of those who opposed him in the mile race The starters in this race were principally sprinters and Durward Roberts came from a long way back in the last quarter o take the purse in the slow time of l42ys over a fast ttiek ttiekAdvices Advices from the east received this morning is that Billy Kelly is going along steadily in his Ken ¬ tucky Derby preparation and that he recently turned a mile over the Linrel track ia 140 On learning this owner McClelland said Glad that Kelly is coming on line and I want him to be at his best on Derby day when he meets Eternal for I feel confident Eternal will beat him The AVandcrer may also b started in the Derby ac ¬ cording to owner McClelland McClellandW W D Berhhardt whose liorsns are racing here under the care of 1 A Strode will ship the horses back to New Orleans where they will be rested until fallMose the opening at Jefferson Park next fall Mose Goldblatt will ship all the horses ho has under SundayTwo his care to Kentucky next Sunday Two cars will bo necessary to ship the consign ¬ ment of J W McClelland which will include the Kentucky Derby pair Eternal and Tho Wanderer The horses will leave for Louisville nest Sunday SundayMose Mose Goldblatt sold Tumbler this morning on private terms to M Tillery a newcomer to racing The horse will be turned over to J G Wagner who will take hiai to Maryland
