TRUE FACTS ABOUT CANADIAN RACING RACINGTORONTO TORONTO Out April 2C The Canadian racing situation today is as follows The order in council passed in June 1917 under the authority of the war measures act prohibits betting on the races during the war and for six months thereafter Another bill now before tho house of commons calls for tho validation of all orders passed under the war measures act at the end of the present ses ¬ sion of parliament The autibettiiig order will therefore b valid until the end of the session of parliament or until the formal declaration of the termination of the state of war which ever comes first firstW W P Frazer secretary of the Ontario Jockey Club assumes that the original order in council will expire with the session of parliament and that racing will be permissible after that date which may be sometime in June and which will allow of one race meeting of seven days to be held by each club The directors of the Ontario Jockey Club and the executives of the Canadina Racing Asso ¬ ciations who meet next week probably Friday will likely make an official announcement of their plans for the coming season
