GRATEFUL TO AMERICAN TURFMEN TURFMENXEW XEW YORK X Y May 28 In a lettur to Frank R Hitchcock M Auguste Du Bos of Paris the senior steward of the Auteuil Steeplechase Society expresses himself as being deeply moved by the many expressions of sympathy which lie has received from his friends in the United States on the recent death of his wife TI Du Bos has been kind to American sportsmen visiting France and during the war took a particular interest in Sehuyler Parsons Jr and Thomas Hitchcock Jr He was unflagging in his efforts to locate the latter when he was shot down by the German air forces and it was to him that the young aviator wrote when he made his escape from the Hun detention camp
