REGRETS FIRST FOAL HIGHLY PRIZED PRIZEDNEW NEW YORK N Y June 10 James Rowe trainer of the H P Whitney stable sees a bright future for the first foal of Mr Whitneys great race mare Regret the only one of her sex to win the historic Kentucky Derby The youngster is a handsome chestnut filly by Pennant the Futurity winner of 1913 1913Regret Regret and this her first foal are in Kentucky on Mr Whitneys new stock farm which formerly was a part of the late Mr Haggins Elmendorf farm and Pennant is one of the sires which were assigned to the Whitney farm in Kentucky when it was first stocked This filly is a royallybred one and her progress will be watched with no little interest by turfmen all over this country Her dam a magnificent individual and looking to have the conformation of an ideal brood mare was the acknowledged queen of the turf during her racing days and a mare of exceptionally rich breeding Sired by the great Broomstick one of the best sires ever in service in this country and coming of a line of winning race horse sires which have well proved themselves in an unbroken line from Don John down through Bonnie Scotland Bramble and Ben Brush to Broomstick with the priceless Queen Mary strain coming in through Ron ¬ nie Scotland and the Blacklock blood coming in through Elf the dam of Broomstick the daughter of Galliard and the granddaughter of Galopin which sired St Simon Regret through her dam Jersey Lightning introduces Hamburg by Hanover which was by Hindoo Bourbon Belle by Bonnie Scotland ScotlandThrough Through her sire this aristocratic young miss will introduce the Futurity winner and good race horse Pennant by the great Peter Pan and the richly bred English mare Royal Rose by Royal Hampton second dam imported Belle Rose by Boniidcsert and third dam Monte Rosa by Craig Miller
