UNITED HUNTS AUTUMN PROGRAM Innovation of Morning Racing to Be Tried Sup ¬ port of General Public Asked NEW YORK N Y July 25 The dates granted to the United Hunts Racing Association for Its autumn meeting at Belmont Park Terminal Satur ¬ day August 30 in the afternoon and Saturday September 0 at midday Insure thorough freedom from local opposition and ita snuccess frbm both a financial and sporting point of view Racing en ¬ thusiasts unable to attend the Saratoga meeting will welcome in it the return of thoroughbred sport to New York City as well as many whose stay at the Spa has been necessarily limited The Terminal It Is hoped therefore will open Its gates with the attendance to which it is entitled entitledThe The prgram as drawn up is diverse In Its features The second half of the Double Event Steeplechase the first half of which was won by that sterling steeplechaser The Brook with 170 pounds up as well as the Queens Steeplechase at two and onehalf miles to be run also other cross ¬ country events Interspersed with short and long ¬ distance flat races one of which will be for gen ¬ tleman riders ridersAs As all interested in racing are aware the United Hunts though in the sport for sports sake only and responsible for the entrance into racing of many of its stanchest supporters of today has been unable to secure open dates for its spring or fall meetings This experiment in the associations dates the only compromising measure possible will be watched with interest and the association in its efforts to keep alive the best traditions of thor ¬ oughbred sport and aid in the development of the army remount should receive the support of the general public
