CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF I have heard a good account of The Panther which is going remarkably well and kindly in his work and hope in his case has by no means been abandoned Probably some little race will be chosen for him presently so as to give him a chance of regaining1 his confidence which was so utterly shaken at Epsom W Allison in London Sports ¬ man manThe The King of Spains racing stable is meeting with remarkable success So far this season his horses have won twentyeight races as the result of fifty six attempts which must be nearly if not quite an average record His majesty lias several smart twoyearolds which have yet to know defeat among them being a filly by Littleton Mrs Puff named Mistake MistakeRichard Richard Croker is to retire as an Irish racing man with the sale of his horses in training though he will still operate Glencairn and breed thorough ¬ breds Mr Crokers last sale in 1916 sent Grand Parade the Epsom Derby winner of this year to Lord Gliinelys stable as a yearling for 2350 The ex Isoss of Tammany is to return to America in October to live some nine months of each year
