MONTREAL MEETINGS DECLARED OFF SARATOGA SPRINGS N Y August 14 Wil ¬ liam Murray who was interested in Mausoneuve race course and is still concerned in the sport around Montreal returned from Canada this morn ¬ ing and announced that the proposed meetings to begin next Saturday were abandoned because there seemed to be no head to the project and incident ¬ ally that the Canadian government did not want a resumption of the sport for the time being beingOnly Only about two carloads of horses were on hand said Mr Murray though more were ex ¬ pected Then again it was proposed to run accord ¬ ing to the oral system of betting and that would hardly do in Montreal Anyhow the meetings have been called off for the time being
