Won handily; second and third driving. BrCKHORN II. moved up steadily from a slow beginning, and passing the leaders in the stretch won going away. HURRY showed the most speed to the last eighth, but could not withstand the winners challenge. SADIE D. saved ground on the turns and held on gamely under punishment. RED DOMINO began slowlv and raced wide throughout, but was closing up gamely in the last eighth, when he stumbled a few strides from the finish. BARLEY WATER tired in the stretch drive. MIDIAN quit badly in the last quarter. SAND RIVER II. ran out on the far turn. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,500 and sold to G. W. Forman. Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third driving. STARTLING, suddenly improved, worked his way up on the inside, and gaining a clear course in the stretcli passed OLD ROSEBUD and drew away, but had to be hard ridden to withstand LORD BRIGHTONS challenge. The latter was shuffled back in the first eighth, but came around the leaders and finished fast under punishment. OLD ROSEBUD set a fast pace to the last eighth and tired, but had impeded CRANK on the last turn, for which he was disqualified. GEORGE STARR raced on the outside clear of interference and finished gamely under punishment. CRANK was on the inside of the leaders all the way and met with repeated interference. BLUE LADDIE finished with a rusji through the last eighth. FLAGS ran a fast half and was eased up when it was evident he was beaten. The latter gained gradually in the last half, slipped through on the inside on the stretch turn and finished with a belated rush. DORCAS was a prominent contender in the early running, but tired in the last eighth. ROMEO lacked early speed, but closed a big gap in the last half and would have been third in a few more strides. MANOEVRE ran well, but tired in the last eighth. THUNDERSTORM, under slight restraint in the early running, responded gamely when called on and took the lead at the eighth post; but could not withstand the winners challenge. ATHLONE showed the most speed for a mile, and holding on gamely under punishment through the last eighth outstayed TETLEY. KING, under a pull in the early running, was from the outside to the inside in the stretch, and crowding his way through finished with a belated rush. WILFREDA held on gamely in the final drive and outstayed COURCELLES. The latter was a forward contender in the early running, but quit in the last eighth. INDIAN SPRING closed a big gap.
