BREEDERS FUTURITY A RICH PRIZE With Ten Starters Gross Value Will Be Over 0,000 W. J. Youngs Promising String.. LEXINGTON, Ky., September 2. W. J. Young has twelve horses in training five of his own and seven for others. Stevenson, a four-year-old bay gelding, by Hilarious Responsful, is the senior of the string. He was a maiden until June 30 at Latonia, when he won easily. The other four of Youngs own Hire two-year-olds. Captain Mae, a chestnut colt, by The Manager Royal Dainty, by Itoyal Flush III., is the star of the quartet. He is a winner and also twice third in five starts. His owner regards him as a real prospect for the Kentucky Derby and tliis week stated that he had not so long ago refused a "lot of money" for him. "This is a fast and good horse," said Young, as he flopped the colts mane over to the proper side of his neck. "With a decent break at the post, where he was off twelfth, he would have won the Cincinnati Trophy. He closed a big gap and was coming fast at the finish, where he was beaten only two lengths, a neck and two heads. Ho can run in the mud or on the dry." Black Prince, a black colt, by Tony Bonero Clothes Brush, by Ben Brush; Bubbles, a chestnut colt, by Pataud Autumn Leaves, by Prince of Monaco, and Kiddle, a bay filly, by Ellisdale Wondawhy. by Sempronius, completes the complement. Black Prince is a two-time winner and a sturdy looking fellow. Bubbles, aside from being parrot-mouthed, is a trimly made colt, and Riddle looks as if she may solve the problem next fall. Her sire, is a son of Watercress and La Primera, by Joe Hooker, and she is his only representative of her age. OUR LITTLE ANN SPEEDY FILLY. The only three-year-old in the string is Brcqkcn-rufgullf IJiiyf illy Our Little Ann, by Peter Quince Little Oasis. She has never been to the post, but she has considerable, speed, though diminutive in appearance. Kenneth I. Alexander has in the stable two colts by Plaudit that have started, but have not won. They are Airdrie. the brown son of Cynthia, by Oddfellow, and Anticipate, the bay son of Antipathy, by Ornament. C. W. Parrishs Woodford, bay colt, 2, by Fair Play, dain Sanctissima, by Lamplighter, and John S. Barbees Sweep Jr., bay colt, 2, by Sweep E valine dam of Ed Crump, by Deceiver, have started and have not won. The yearling members of the string are E. C. Christians chestnut colt by Handsel, dam Experience, and W. Showalters chestnut colt by. Brum-mel, dam Margaret Kent. Sweep Jr. is eligible to the Breeders Futurity, but it has not as yet been determined whether he will start. The race is twenty days away and by that time he may have shown sufficient to warrant his going out for that big prize. With ten starters the Breeders Futurity this year will have a gross value of 0,170.
