CARBINES TWO RACES A DAY RECORD The great Australian race horse. Carbine contested two races on the one day on five occasions, viz., the Victoria All-Aged Stakes and Loch Plato, and Australian All-Aged Stakes and Cumberland Stakes, as a three-year-old; the Victoria All-Aged Stakes and Loch llate and the Australian All-Aged Stakes and Cumberland Stakes, as a four-year-old; and the Australian All-Aged Stakes and Cumberland Stakes as a five-year-old. Tiie only occasion on which lie was defeated when he ran two races en the one day was when Marvel accounted for him in tho Australian All-Aged Stakes, when Carbine was five years old. Melos finished twelve times in a place behind Carbine in the Victoria Derby Carbine second. Melos third, Victoria Foal Stakes, Victoria Champion Stakes, Sydney Cup and Australian llate, as a three-year-old; in the Melbourne Cup Carbine second, Melos third. Victoria Essendon Stakes, Australian Autumn Stakes, Australian Cumberland Stakes and Australian llate. as a four-year-old; Australian Spring Stakes and Melbourne Stakes, as a five-year-old.
