PURSES FOR NEW ORLEANS RACING According to advices from Now Orleans, a recommendation will be made by manager R. S. Eddy, Jr., to the directors of the Rusiness Mens Racing Association that the daily purse distribution at the Fair Grounds during the forty-four days of racing I next winter average ,00 daily, split as follows: Four purses of 00 each: two of SSOO each, and one. race of ,000. In addition to these offerings four stakes will be listed having an added value ot ,000 each. These races will be sandwiched uniformly through the term of racing, the Xew Years. Handicap at one mile having its running Jm the opening day. The second stake race will be held about January 20. and will be at a mile and a quarter, to be followed by a race at a mile and a half about February 7, and the Martin Rehrnian Handicap on the closing day. The last named race 1 will be at two miles.
