PARR STABLE For the Second Day in Succession His Horses Win Two Races Big Crowd Out for Close of Meeting. - g HAVRE DE CRACK, Md., September 30. Capt. -Ral Parr repeated his success of yesterday and scored another double at Havre de Grace this after- -noon when The Wit and Stucco won. The formers victory came in the opening race, a dash of three- Z quarters of a mile, for two-year-olds, while Stucco beat rather an ordinary band of jumpers in the j steeplechase. The Wit showed a good performance despite the fact that those back of. him were of 4 poor caliber. Ho was away slowly. and in the 4 early running looked hopelessly out of it. His rider 4 peiserved with him and ho resioiided gamely, getting up in the last fifty yards and winning 4 going away. 4 The closing day of the meeting, brought out a large gathering, and keen sport was enjoyed. The club has been extremely liberal witli the horse- rj men, and next year the management " promises to do even greater things. . d Thrilling finishes marked the fourth and fifth j, in races. In the fourth only a neck separated Fort n Bliss and Marion Hollins, with Louise V. third, c onlv a head away, while in the fifth the result was j; in doubt until the official placing was announced. Snrague shipped his stable from here to the Driving Park, where he will remain until the opening of the Pimlico meeting. Thrift, winner of the seventh race yesterday, was boosted to ,700 by G. R. Bryson and was re- ; tained by his owner. . T Crist purchased of J. Price the useful plater Warsaw. Price claimed the horse after he was beaten the other day. W. L. McClelland will leave for Saratoga next week to witness trials of the big. band of fifty yearlings lie has at the Spa in charge of Cliarles Hughes. The weather at Saratoga has been bad until the last week or ten days and the youngsters are probably not as forward as their bwnermlght wish. The band will be split up into tlireja divisions, part going to Hot Springs, Ark., some to New Orleans and the remainder to Havre do Grace, where they will be wintered in the handsome new stable which is under course of construction.
