KING PLAUDIT MAKES GOOD SHOWING Easily Defeats the Speedy Over There in Impressive Style Stake Feature to Albert A. NEW YORK, N. Y.. September 30. Another formidable candidate for the Latonia Championship Stakes was shown at Jamaica today when King Plaudit won the third race from as good a performer as W. R. Coes Over There in a common canter. In his last start King Pluudit refused to leave the barrier, the colt sulking, but today Davies got him away quickly and he soon opened up a commanding lead, which he easily maintained to the end. Over There was in closest pursuit throughout, but could never overtake King Plaudit. Trainer Geo. Odom will doubtless ship the son of Plaudit to Latonia within a few days, with the intention of starting him in the big race for three-year-olds. Odom has always maintained that the "colt was of more than ordinary class, but he has been extremely unfortunate 111 the majority of his starts this year. . The Gowamis Selling Stakes was the intended feature of the afternoon and it brought ont some fair platers. The improving Albert A; was the winner by a head over Whimsy, the early pacemaker, the two finishing far 111 advance of the remainder of the field. . . , V cloe finish resulted in the running of the second race. Miss Krtitrr barely getting up in time to beat Koh-i-Noor a head. The latter was bearing out somewhat at the finish, which doubtless caused her defeat. Trainer J. Hogan will ship the racer Polka Dot to Latonia tomorrow to run in the Latonia Championship Stakes. Lion dOr and Merry Princess will also be sent to Latonia. The entire stable of S. C. Hildreth was shipped to Laurel tonight, that owner having changed his mind regarding leaving part of his extensive stable "jl" Hastings and Silas Veitch ship their stables to Laurel tomorrow, and the W. M. Jeffords string departs tonight. - Trainer T. J. Healey lias disposed of the two-vear-olds Roseland and Plain. Heather to J. AV . Pangle and Red Domino to- J. Farrell, Jr. Pang.e will race his acquisitions in Cuba next winter. Contrary to reports trainer W. B. Jennings is not being displaced as trainer of the A. K.
