CURRENT NOTES OF THE TURF The story is again revived that The Brook is to go to France this fall for obstacle racing on the Paris courses in 1920. The apprentice jockey F. Coltiletti is fast coming to the front as a rider of promise. He rode eleven winners at Havre de Grace and Is continuing his good saddle work at Laurel. Friday he had three winning mounts. In addition to the money value of the Latonia Championship Stakes, the owner of the winner will receive a gold cup. the cost of which is 1,150. It 1 js a gift of the Thoroughbred Horse Association by private subscription of several of its members. Racing values are constantly increasing in Australasia. In Victoria the Caulfield Cup has been raised from 0,000 to 5,000 and the Melbourne Cup from 0,000 to 35,000, while in New Zealand tlic Auckland Cups value has been increased from 2,500 to 15,000. Spain is looking up in a racing way. One of the best, riders there is a young English man, Reginald Stokes. Hewas sent over to England to ride Capt. J. I. Cohns French horse Heliogabalus in the Don-caster Cup September 12. The Frenchman was second -at -7 to 1. old Hake at 1 to 7 virtually winning ns he pleased, the two and one-eighth miles in 8:54. i
