It Is a matter in which practice differs, but this newspaper has for years expressed the opinion that when a field horse wins or runs to a place all 6ther field horses in the race win accordingly. Michael L., New Orleans, La. Skeer Face ran in three races at the Fair Grounds in January, 1918, and none in February. The first and second of the three he won and in the third was cut down while leading. There is no mention in the notes of his having jumped over the fence prior to either of the races. W. Both, have raced this year, but the- filly has not started since last spring at Jefferson Park.. . Under the circumstances a wager of October 9 carelessly written "Honolulu," instead of Honolulu Boy was obviously meant to be on the latter and would be paid by fair-minded layers.
