ARMISTICE made a game effort an the... stretch , turn,, but could never, overtake the leader. MORONI was n forward contender all the way, but tired in the last eighth. Won driving; second and third the same. LUNETTA followed the leaders closely from the start, held on resolutely under punishment and outstayed EDWINA in the final drive. EDWINA, under slight restraint in the early running, raced in the best going and, coming fast at the end. just failed to get up. BRIGHT GOLD finished gamely through the last eighth. HEAD OVER HEELS displayed her usual early speed, but quit badly in the stre.tch run and seemed handicapped by the going. RAMBLER ROSE was outrun all the way. Scratched 142193Cleopatra, US. ULTIMA TIIULE took a quick lead and raced OLD ROSEBUD into early defeat, but could not withstand the winners challenge. FLAGS, under slight restraint in the early running, saved ground when entering the stretch, but tired under punishment in the last eighth. OLD ROSEBUD tired after going a half. BILL McCLOY raced in the safest going in the early running, but quit badly in the last quarter.
