BRIGHT GOLD, on the outside of the leaders in the early running, saved ground on the stretch turn aud, responding gamely to punishment, wore SAND BED down in the last eighth and drew away .It the end. SAND BED, under slight restraint for the first half, took the lead in the stretch, but could not withstand the winners challenge. CASTOR saved ground on the turns and held on gamely in the final drive. LONELY only ran fairly well. EDITH K. ran extremely wide throughout. The latter set a fast pace under slight restraint and drew clear in the stretch, but tired in the closing strides. ENFILADE-gained steadily from a slow beginning and easily passed BILL McCLOY in the last eighth. The latter set a fast early pace and quit in the stretch.
