R. T. Wilsons good Olambala colt Hannibal ruled a strong choice in the stake race and fully justified expectations by winning from start to finish with consummate ease, being under restraint tlie latter part of the running. Drummond, which was next in consideration, made a game but unavailing effort to get to the winner, finishing scciud by a wide margin. Blairgowrie was as easily third. Right Over Might, the favorite, won the second race like a good one. Slow to start, he shot into the lead at once and made his opposition look cheap. D. Weir, when in the third race, a highweight handicap, the aged gelding raced Bill McCloy into early defeat, opened up a good gap and won easily. Flags, slow to begin, made up ground gradually and outlasted Bill McCloy, which just stayed to get third money from Wee Louise bv a narrow margin. "Backers of favorites started off badly In the first race, selecting Sand Bed to do the trick, the winner turning up in Sister Helenc at remunerative odds, tlie Weir filly setting all the pace and disposing of Foreclosure in a mild drive. Sand Bed had his usual speed, but tired, lasting, however, to get third place from Bright Gold, which ran below her recent good form. M. J. Murphy purchased Tenons Bon at private sale.
