GOVERNMENT SUPERVISION OF RACING VANCOUVER, B. C, October 25. Hearty approval of the proposal to have government supervision of all horse racing, with the government taking charge of all proceeds over fair profits nnd devoting it to the improvement of horse breeding in the province, was given at the sessions of the racing inquiry held in the city hall yesterday, with Commissioner Dr. J. G. Rutherford presiding. This fact, on which practically all the witnesses were unanimous, and the announcement by Rev. A. B. Roberts of the social service council that they were not opposed to any form of legalized betting, were the chief features of the two sessions. A considerable number of witnesses cave evidence.
