ZINNIA saved ground on the stretch turn and moved up fast, but was cut off, then came to the outside in the last eighth and finished with a rush. JACK ODOWD gained steadily. PILGRIM raced next to the inner rail all the way and finished ganielv. NORTHWARD displayed the most speed in the early running and was slightly interfered .with by DAVID HARUM in the stretch. Foul was claimed, but disallowed. BIFF BANG closed un fast at the eighth post when called on. but could never overtake the leaders. IRA WILSON quit and" was eased up when beaten. STAR MASTER, well ridden, raced close up on the outside of SALVESTRA under hard restraint, then, took the lead in the stretch and held BLAIRGOWRIE safe in the tinal drive. The latter was forced wide on the turns, but finished fast and gamely. WAR MACHINE was under slight restraint in the early running and made a game effort in the stretch, but tired in the closing strides. RECOUNT was on the inside on the last turn ami forced to be pulled up and was in close quarters in the stretcli drive. SALVESTRA set the pace, but tired badly after going a mile.
