KING GEORGES STABLE AND STUD Englands Ruler in Poor Racing Luck His Breeding and Racing Prospects. King George of England and his Sandringham Stud, a profitable glory in the days of that great sportsman, his father, King Edward, have had several bad seasons in both racing and breeding. It needs another Persimmon and good management. Recently the entire establishment has been expertly checked up preparatory to reorganization which it sadly needs. Good judges think that in Friar Marcus, 1010, by Cicero Prim Nun, by Persimmon Nonesuch, which was a good race horse and an unbeaten two-year-old and won 7,175 in three seasons. Sandringham has a sire of great promise. It needs one. Friar Marcus first crop of two-year-olds are due next season. At present in the Sandringham paddocks there are six foals and in the stables sixteen mares of great excellence, all of which have been bred to Friar Marcus. Of these mares La Marquise, Glad Tidings, Prim Nun, Saints Mead, Flower-jug, White Heart and Persepolis were barren this season a bad average. Last year Witch of the Air had been mated with Amadis. Glad Tidings with Bowman, Prim Nun witli The Tetrarch, Saints Mend with Tracery, Flower-jug with Beppo, White Heart with Gay Crusader and Persepolis with Feather Bed. There are eleven yearlings to race in 1920 in the royal colors. They are: Bay colt, April 24, by Tolymelus Prim Nun, by Persimmon. Bay colt, April. 24, by Polymelus Sweet Vernal, by Sainfoin. Chestnut filly, March 20, by Cicero Ecila, by Persimmon. Bay filly, April 2S, by Black Jester Flower-jug, by Florizel II. Bay filly, April 22, by Picton Saints Mead, by St. Simon. Bay filly, February 9, by Picton White Pearl, by White Eagle. Bay filly, May 3, by Thrush White Heart, by St. Serf. Brown colt, April 30, by Tracery Marie LEstrange, bv Cicero. Bay colt. The first four are said to be most promising and have been heavily engaged in futures.
