SOME OF THE OUTSTANDING FEATURES IN THE LINES OF ANCESTRY SUGGESTIVE OF FUTURE GREATNESS FOR ZULEIKA AS A BROOD MARE By no stretch of the imagination could Zuleika be dubbed a good race mare. She ran in seven races as a two-year-old last year without winning. This year she has started three times and won once In her solitary winning race she showed that she is gifted with a fair measure of speed in defeating Stock-well and ten more maiden three-year-olds at Lexington September li in 1:13and with 107 pounds up. Experts in breeding hold that a brood mare which has shown a good order of speed in racing is more likely to prove successful than one which has not done so. Zuleika has qualified in that regard and it may be an element in her prospective chance to win fame as a brood mare in the future. By right of descent she is entitled to shine in that capacity. Her sire, Neil Gow, was a great race horse and a member of the most flourishing male line of Matchem in England. Through him she also has the blood of the famous Paradigm, P.araflin, Hiuminata, Chclandry line of brcod mares. There is nothing better than this in Englands General Stud Book. As an interesting stuay of blood lines of high fashion in England her pedigree is here presented: f Barcaldine 23 Solon 23 S West Australian 7 M I bay, 1878 Darlings dam 23 E r ,r Marco 3 j l Rallyroe 5 Belladrum 22 E g chestnut, 1802 . .
