j KENTUCKY JOCKEY CLUB MEETING G. J. long Elected Director to Succeed Catesby Wocdford Charitable Donations Announced. LOUISVILLE. Ky., December 23. Donation of 5,000 to several societies and institutions and the election of George J. Long as a director to succeed Catesby Woodford, retired, were among the business mutters handled by the board of directors of the Kentucky Jockey Club at a recent meeting of that body. Robert Baker, resident manager of the Lexington track, tendered his resignation, which was accepted. No successor was appointed. The board declared nn annual dividend of five per cent on the common stock an seven per cent on the preferred. Donations made by the directors were as follows: Five thousand dollars to the Welfare League of Louisville, ,000 to the Associated Charities of Covingtou, ,000 to the Associated Charities of Ixington and ,000 to the Department of Agriculture, University of Kentucky, for the purpose of promoting its work in the horse breeding industry. Nine directors were present ut the meeting. They were Maurice Gnlvin o.t. Covington, M. J.-Winn, Johnson N. Camden. R. W. Bingham, A. T. Hert, C. bX Grainger. Patrick Hanlon, Uenning Chambers and .Tunics B. Brown.
