STEEPLECHASE STEWARDS MEETING SARATOGA. X. Y.. August 10. At the last meeting of tlie stewards of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association the following licenses were granted: Jockeys. Sidney Yeitcli, J. J. Russell; trainers, John J. Casey, J. Beamish, James Fitz-simmons. An application for a jockey license from L. Merl-pole. was tabled pending further investigation. A certificate as a gentleman rider was granted to Mr. Morgan Dewitt Blair, subject to the approval of the Hunts committee. Sanction was granted to tho Maryland State Fair to give steeplechases during its meeting at Laurel Park October 1 to 30. inclusive. Frank J. Bryan, was appointed steward to represent the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association at the meeting.
