JOCKEY CLAVER SERIOUSLY INJURED FORT ERIE, Ontario, August 14. Jockey Claver. the premier rider of the division of the stable that Commander J. K. L. Ross is racing in Canada, met with a painful accident this morning that will keep him out of the saddle for the remainder of the year. While exercising the two-year-old Sudor the colt ran into a bar gate that was swung open onto the track from the inside rail and when the pole rebounded it struck Claver across the forehead, tearing one -of his eyes almost out of his head and fracturing his skull. The lad was rushed to a hospital in Buffalo and his condition is considered serious.
