Won easily; second and third driving. JOCK SCOT, in close pursuit of the lender In the early running, responded gamely when called on in the stretch and was going away at the end. DODGE, In a tangle at the start, moved up steadily on the extreme outside while rounding the last turn and finished with a ..rush. REDMON showed excellent speed and set a fast pace, but tired in the last sixteenth. MANOEVRE closed a big gap and finished fastest of all. NIGHTSTICK was running well at the end. SMART GUY tired in the last eighth. FLIGHT CAPTAIN, after being under slight restraint for the first turn of the field, took a long lead, in the last eighth and tired in the stretch, but held on resolutely to the end. RHOMlt was prominent throughout and lost ground at all the Jumps, but closed up rapidly in the last eighth and was wearing the leader down in the closing strides. SURF had no mishaps. The latter set a fast pace nearly throughout and held on gamely when challenged. CARPET SWEEPER raced in nearest pursuit of the leader in the early running and gamely outstayed BLUE WRACK. The latter ran well, but tired when called on for a final, effort. UNDER FIRE moved up fast on the stretch turn, but was interfered with by MAD HATTER and thrown off his stride. SEDGEFIELD slipped through next to the Inner.rail when entering the homestretch and finished gamely but tiring. ARARAT closed a gap in the early running and moved up to the leader in the homestretch, but tired badly from his effort. TOUCH ME NOT was in close quarters in the early running, but tired when clear in the lust eighth. QUECREEK ran well. SPORTING BLOOD began slowly and could never get up. NATURAL BRIDGE moved up rapidly while rounding the lust turn and raced TENONS BON into defeat, but could not withstand the winners challenge. KING AGRIPPA finished gamely and easily outstayed TENONS BON. The latter set a good paee, but quit badly in the last quarter. WAR PLUME lacked speed and ran a bad race.
