OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS I H. P. Whitney Has Won in Excess of ,000,000 During Sixteen Years of Racing. n. P. Whitney has won over ,000,000 in stakes and purses on the American turf during the past sixteen years. He was the leading money -winning owner of 1913 and 1915, but at no time since his entry in the sport after the death of his noted father has Mr. Whitney enjoyed such a successful year as the present one. He has already won tha immense sum of 93,005 during the first eight months of 1920, and with his formidable aggregation of star racers extensively engaged in the many rich stakes to be run In New York Maryland and Kentucky during the fall it would not be surprising if his total winnings for the year exceeded the 00,000 mark. It may be well to mention here that Mr. Whitney was really the leading winner owner in 1901. when, because of the death of his father, the Whitney horses were raced under the colors of H. B. Duryea and won 00,107. Seldom is it the good fortune of an owner to have in his possession in any one year such a galaxy of star racers as are found in Mr. Whitneys stable this year. John P. Grier, Upset, Wlldair, Dr. Clark and Damask are only surpassed in tile three-year-old division by the incomparable Man o War; .while Tryster, Prudery, Exodus, Crocus, Moody and others of the grand band of two-year-olds in the stable are among the top-notchers in the juvenile division.
