LATONIA CUP HANDICAP Cream of Long-Distance Racers Named for tho Two-Mile-and-a-Quarter Race to Be Run at Latonia. - i An old-fashioned race at a regular cup distance. Such is the Latonia Cup of ,500 added at two miles and a quarter. This will be one of the salient features of the coming Latonia meeting and promises a great contest. Prominent among the eligibles Commander Ross Sir Barton and Boniface, S. Kilmers hero Exterminator, Bondage, Drastic, Under Fire, Stockwell, Beavcrkill, Freecutter, Audacious, Minto II. and others of the older division more or less noted for their ability to run far and fast. In addition to these veterans, a grand band of three-year-olds arc named as probable starters, including such as the Whitney group, consisting of Wildair, John P. Grier, Dr. Clark, Upset, Damask; E. R. Bradleys Busy Signal and Rest Pal; G. W. Lofts Donnacona, the crack western star, Paul Weidel, and W. F. Poisons Peace Pennant. The prospects for a large and high-clasa field . for a race of this description Avcre never better. It is hoped that the Latonia Cup will not meet the fate most of the long-disance features have in the recent years, that of dwindling down one or two starters. The entries and conditions the race follow: The Latonia Cup ,500 added. A handicap for three-year-olds and over. By subscription of 0 each; additional to start; ,500 added, of which 00 to second. 00 to third, the fourth to save its stake. Weights six days before the race. Winners after publication of weights, 3 lbs. extra. Starters to be named through the entry box the day before the race at the usual time of closing. The winner to receive a silver trophy.
