The United States Remount Association this afternoon secured, .another suitable stallion for cavalry breeding through the-mediuin of the military handicaps instituted at track with a view of aiding the United States goy-ernment in its quest for thoroughbreds necessary to secure the proper type of army remounts. The winner on this occasion was Sand Bed, a three-year-old .chestnut fon of Ogden SandpQcket,, carrying the silks of Roscoe Goose. He proved liest of tlie six others starting and took the ,200 net that served as; the winners portion- tf the ,500: purse.. The. United States government also; pays Goose 50 whea-tlie horse is taken over. Sand Bed was a slight favorite over Grey Eagle and led the latter for the entire race to ultimately win by a length, Grey Eagle beating Rapid Stride a short distance for second place.
