"SWAPPER" GARRISON RETIRES; MO NT FORT JONES NEW TRAINER Sweep Clean, the three-year-old colt by Sweep Tenawha, by Tenny, which won for Mr. Montfort Jones at Empire City Tuesday so impressively, is said to be held in high store by Mr. Jones and William Shields, who saddled the. colt and prepared liini for Jils -best effort. It was the first win for the Sweep colt as a three-year-old, he having started liuj once before this year, when he finished third , niji finished only three-quarters of a" length behind CJenle W- and Round Robin. The stable of Mr. Montfort Jones has been divided, part of the horses being sent to Kentucky in charge of Frank Gailor end those remaining in the Hatit are being looked after by William Shields. Edward "8nappcr" Garrison is the contract traiper for" the stable, but the veteran jockey has lieeu incapacitated by illness since last summer, from giving his attention to the Jones horses, and lias virtually retired as their trainer.
