AKIN followed the early leaders closely to the stretch, and -raced into the lead in the last eighth to win going away. PORT LIGHT set a fast early pace and came again in the last eighth atter seeming badly beaten. APPLE JACK II. tired unexpectedly in the last sixteenth after taking the lead. BILLY McLAUGHLIN raced into the lead with a rush, was hard held for the entire race and could have won farther oft had his rider so desired. BYGONE DAYS began slowly, but saved much ground when coming into the stretch and finished well under hard riding. TRIBUNE fought it out gamely fwirough the stretch and outstayed ALL RIGHT SIR.. The latter lost considerable ground by a wide swing when entering the stretch. SLIPALONG tired badly in the last quarter.
