RAfclNG REsbMED AT HAVANA Track Deep and Heavy Jockey Crump Rides Three Winners. HAVANA, Cuba, November SO. Racing was resumed today at Oriental Park after the usual Monday layoff. The track was deep and heavy. Mud runners were in their glory and won the majority of the races. The finishes were close- enough to be interesting. The opening dash furnished the best finish of the afternoon when the first three horses fought it all the last eighth and passed the finishing mark heads and noses apart. Crump put up a particularly strong finish on Draftsman, the winner, and mainly through his efforts did this horse win. Crump also rode the winners of the third and sixth races, Hemlock and Duke of Shelby respectively. The attendance was large and speculation brisk. Among the consignment that reached here Monday were the brood mare Golden Ruby and a yearling : colt of that mare by Great Britain. Jockey Keisay, who came here to ride for A. H. j Diaz, has made an agreement with John Lowe to ride for the lattcrs stable. S. Burnside arrived this morning from Maryland-witli the horses Cy Merrick, Plantagenet and Discord. John B. Fletcher and wife of Newport, Ky., accompanied by Miss Lillian Ryan, also of Newport, Ky., arrived today for an extended visit. Mr. Fletcher has been a stockholder in Oriental Park since the opening year and is an animal visitor. He is well known in Kentucky racing circles. John Walters brought four horses to Cuba belonging to George M. Hendrie, the well-known Canadian sportsman. They are Rancher, the good long-distance racer, Exliorter and Salvo. Charles A. Stoneham and John J. McGraw, principal owners of Oriental Park, are planning to leave for New York next Monday on business connected with their baseball Interests. Jockey James Butwell cabled trainer Willie Daly that he would arrive in Havana Wednesday morning. He would have been here sooner but for his engagement to ride Edward B. McLeans Leochares In a stake race last Saturday. Butwell is under engagement to ride for E. Alvarez during the winter.
