PURSE TAKEN FROM YUKON Error in Weight Causes Disqualification of Irwin Horse Trainers and Jockeys Punished. SAN DIEGO, Cal., December 10. Because of a technical error in weights the purse won by C. B. Irwins Yukon at Tijuana last Friday was given to George Muehlebach, which finished second. Yukon carried 102 pounds in the race, whereas according to the conditions he should have carried 105. The disqualification of Yukon places George Muehlebach first, Examiner second and July Fly third, but does not affect the betting. It was announced by the stewards that pending an investigation of the running of the sixth race of last Thursday, which was won by Ring, tlie licenses of trainer A. E. Smith, conditioner of Juanlta Fred- rick, aud jockeys W. Taylor and C. Thompson are suspended. Taylor rode Walter Mack, which fin- I ished seventh in the field of eight, while Thompson had the mount on Juanita Fredrick, which ran fourth. I For tough riding and interference in the fourth I race of Friday last, jockey Clements lias been suspended for ten days by the stewards. W. C. AVeant claimed Sam Hill for ,200 from F. J. ORourke.
