KUMMER TO RIDE FOR H. P. WHITNEY NEW YORK. X. Y.. December 22. II. P. Whitney has secured second call on the services of jockey Clarence Rummer for the year 1021. It is understood that Rummers retainer fee from the Whitney stable will be ..1,000. Rummer gained fame this year as the rider of the peerless Man o War, guiding the champion in all but two of his memorable races. Altogether Kummer rode in 353 races during 1020, of which he won eighty-seven.
