OMINOUS INCHCAPE RUMORS Horses Working Steadily at Gravesend Old Rosebud Galloping Soundly XEW YORK N Y March 18 Ted Rice who has been galloping hoises the last week for George Odom will leave shortly for Pimlico to work for the William Garth stable his contract employer for the year Rice rode for the Quiuey Stable last year but rode some races for Mr Garth notably Paul DerbyIt Jones on which he won the Kentucky Derby It is rumored among the trainers at Gravesend and Belmont Park that Inchcape is not doing well at the Ramocas quarters Johnstown X Y The rumor localityThe came from a recent visitor to that locality The horses of Frank Weir which will leave shortly for Havre de Grace all seem well advanced for an early campaign Old Rosebud was noticed going a good halfmile and seems to be well along and galloped soundly The Gravesend track now ¬ adays is in excellent condition with a good grate ¬ ful cushion on its surface surfaceJames James Fitzsimmons trainer of the Quincy Stable the largest establishment at Gravesend will have the assistance of jockeys J Mooney M Rowan J Walls R Lancaster S Lowe and J Wessler this year Fitzsimmons will ship a small consign ¬ ment to Pimlico the latter part of next month monthKider Kider Guy Burns is busy at Gravesend assisting John Mayberry with the Marrone stable horses of which six are twoyearolds and six older olderJockey Jockey C H Miller and E Taplin are assisting A J GoldsborouglV in the preparation of the C A Stoneham stable at Gravesend This establishment will confine its racing this year to the New York tracks and will move to Aqueduct at the begin ¬ ning of the racing season seasonDick Dick Miller with six head Paul Fox three and John Whalen two will make up a carload for Havre daysFrank de Grace in a few days Frank Taylor who was slated for an early cam ¬ paign in Maryland with the Hallenbeck stable has decided to remain at Gravesend
